Welcome to this Blog

Welcome to the Camp Grier Outreach Blog!

This is a place to gather and share information about how you and others are and can be reaching out to our member churches about Camp Grier.

This main blog "Camp Grier Outreach" will host resources that you can use when doing outreach on behalf of camp. Any user may post resources, which may include personal stories, financial need, capital projects, pictures, video, registration information, bulletin inserts, or anything else one might need while making phone calls, church visits, or mailings for Camp Outreach.

Three related blogs have been created for entering and sharing data about our outreach efforts. If you look at a particular Presbytery page (Camp Grier Outreach Charlotte, Camp Grier Outreach Salem, or Camp Grier Outreach Western), you will find a list of all member churches.

If you reach out to a particular church, let's just say First Presbyterian Church Charlotte, be sure to use this blog to communicate that to your fellow outreach-ers. We don't want to dublicate our efforts! Upon reaching out to First Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, go to the correct blog, find the "edit posts" tab, and record your outreach. If you made a phone call, list relevant information: "Phone call, Clerk of Session, Dec 2, 2009 - Jessica Patchett". This note will alert others that Jessica has begun reaching out to First Charlotte and will continue following up. Once Jessica has followed up and scheduled a site visit, she can then edit her post to say: "Church visit planned for Jan 8, 2009". This will help us keep track of how many churches we have actually sent an ambassador to.

If you are interested in reaching out to churches, but don't know where to start, use this blog! If you are in Salem Presbytery, find your Presbytery blog, scroll down through the list of churches, and pick a few that don't have notes beside them. Edit the blog with your name as a note beside the church name, so that others will know that you are reaching out to that particular church.

Let's make it our goal to have a name beside every church this spring!

Blessings!
